The Grosse Pointes were memorialized in the 1990’s movie, Grosse Pointe Blank. The area was highlighted in two major ways. The first, the beautiful homes and manors that continue the prestige of this historical area. The second, besides for the hit men aiming at each other and their “mark”, the downtown areas were depicted as very boring and not very busy.
I have been very pleased to see more and more new businesses opening in the area that add energy and vibrancy. In addition to our new Trader Joes, City Kitchen, and soon to be open Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, the Pointes seem to be going in the right direction.Â
As a Banker in the area for over 15 years as well as a professional Home Stager and local resident, I am enjoying the transformation in the Pointes and St Clair Shores communities. Remember to shop your local area to reward local (and national) retailers that invest in our communities. By keeping our dollars in the local area, we promote residential and business activity since one cannot truly succeed without the other.Â
